Acrobat Reader Acrobat reader was an editorial project, we were asked to produce textual and visual representations of a short story by Jorge Luis Borges from his published works Labyrinths. My chosen story was the Library of Babel. We had to create three alternate versions of the story, type only, type and image and image only, exploring a chosen theme in an appropriate format relating to your idea. The short story Library of Babel takes place in a futuristic library who's physical dimensions could not exist in the real world. Borges explores theories of geometry and mathematics, asking important questions about our understanding of the universe or lack there of. I chose to explore the theme of impossible structures and form and decided to explore 3D space on the printed page. This was to reflect the impossible and often mind bending world Borges creates in his narrative. Each book leads on from one another, the first exploring changes in perspectives, the second looking at impossible type structures and the third full bleed images challenging the viewers perspective on the format of the page. ﷯ Editorial Information Design Visual Storytelling Visual Fiction
